Located in the coastal enclave of Tanjung Bungah, M Social Penang occupies the former site of the Copthorne Orchid Hotel and marks a contemporary reinterpretation of lifestyle hospitality on the island. The architectural design seeks to establish a strong yet contextual presence, balancing modern expression with subtle references to Penang’s cultural and urban character. The massing and façade articulation are carefully composed to respond to the surrounding landscape and coastal setting, while internal planning prioritises clarity of circulation and spatial efficiency. Designed to accommodate 318 guest rooms alongside public and social amenities, the architecture frames a series of vibrant communal spaces that encourage interaction and engagement. The project positions itself as a new urban landmark, redefining the relationship between resort living and city life through a contemporary architectural lens.

The interior design translates the hotel’s lifestyle-driven concept into a series of immersive and expressive spaces that balance comfort, character, and contemporary living. Each of the 318 guest rooms is thoughtfully planned to maximise spatial efficiency while offering flexibility, comfort, and a strong sense of identity. A modern material palette is layered with local cultural cues, textures, and curated artwork to create interiors that feel both distinctive and rooted in place. Public areas are conceived as social living rooms—dynamic, adaptable, and visually engaging—supporting both relaxation and informal interaction. Innovative layouts, integrated technology, and bespoke furnishings reinforce a seamless guest experience, where design, functionality, and atmosphere work together. The interiors aim to inspire creativity and ease, offering guests a refined yet relaxed environment that reflects the evolving nature of contemporary hospitality.

The WoodSpring Hotel Suites exemplifies VAUSA’s expertise in resilient hospitality design. Created for extended-stay use, the project balances cost-efficient construction with durable materials, operational clarity, and streamlined circulation. The façade articulation blends brand standards with contextual sensitivity, resulting in a hospitality environment that is functional, efficient, and aligned with long-term operator performance needs. Inside, spatial planning prioritises ease of movement, guest autonomy, and durability, while flexibility is built into back-of-house operations to support seamless management over time. The overall design demonstrates how thoughtful simplicity can elevate the extended-stay experience without compromising comfort or performance.

In collaboration with Baysinger Partners Architecture, the Friends of Tryon Creek Education Pavilion reimagines environmental learning in Oregon’s only urban state park. Officially opened on 20 September 2025, the $2.7 million structure replaces the 1975 Glenn Jackson shelter with a contemporary interpretation of traditional Chinook plankhouses. Designed for year-round education, the Pavilion includes dual classrooms with Nanawall folding glass walls that open into a unified gathering space. Locally sourced Western Red Cedar, basalt-inspired bluestone flooring, and commissioned artworks by Coquille, Shoalwater Bay, Grand Ronde and Chinook artists root the architecture in regional heritage. The 2,900 sq ft Pavilion doubles the site’s educational capacity and serves as a signature community gateway into the urban forest.

Bangladesh is a riverine country, and the people of this country have a deep connection with rivers. The life and livelihood of the people are closely linked with the rivers in various ways. Perched along the banks of the majestic Buriganga River, Buriganga Riverview Restaurant unveils itself as an enchanting haven where culinary delights converge with breathtaking natural sights. The architect, entrusted with the task of choosing a location that resonates with the client's patriotic sentiments, embarked on a journey to encapsulate the essence of the Buriganga's historical significance.

The spatial arrangement of the restaurant reflects a meticulous understanding of the site's context. The indoor section, facing the roadside, accommodates a lack of panoramic views Here, one can celebrate in the awe-inspiring ambience, with V.I.P. indoor rooms situated at either end, affording complete seclusion and unparalleled intimacy. The site's dominant north-south orientation also played a critical role in the project's form generation. A block of 15 feet was strategically placed in an east-west arrangement, allowing for optimal air circulation within the outdoor space. This clever utilization of airflow enables a refreshing ambience, heightening the dining experience for guests.

The design integrates fluid, organic curves inspired by the natural flow of the river. The glass walls and transparent floors provide a seamless visual connection to the water, enhancing the diners' experience of being one with nature. The use of glass not only invites natural light but also creates a visual narrative where diners feel like they are floating over the river. The structure features large glass panels and open spaces to provide uninterrupted views of the river, allowing guests to feel connected to the natural beauty of the Buriganga.

This AMUR architecture studio exemplifies a harmonious integration of nature and functionality, emphasizing sustainability, creativity, and adaptability in modern workspace design.

The decision to establish such a studio on the rooftop was delicately throughout. Naturally, the elevated location tends to attract higher temperatures. Instead of creating vast shaded areas, the design opted for smaller voids of space with open skies allowing the interior and exterior to intermingle. This deliberate decision promotes the concept of cross ventilation, enabling the southern breeze to disperse the warm air within, resulting in a naturally cooler and more comfortable environment.

The corridor, traditionally regarded as a mere conduit between spaces, transcends its utilitarian nature within this design. Spanning a length of almost 60 feet, the corridor takes on the role of an exhibition gallery. Dressed up with mahogany wood panelling, it becomes a captivating canvas for creative expression.

The studio itself is divided into two distinct zones—an intimate private oasis and a vibrant public space. The private section, hidden away on a mezzanine floor, serves as the conceptual design studio. this space allows for unhindered thought and brainstorming while offering a panoramic view of the studio below, encouraging a sense of unity and cohesion. The studio is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating natural elements and efficient ventilation. Its north-south orientation allows for natural airflow, with the southern breeze cooling the space and heat escaping through openings to the north.

Within the confines of Dhaka’s compact ground floor areas and limited land space, the studio seizes the opportunity to utilize rooftops as spaces for creative endeavours.

Text: This green lounge restaurant in Dhaka showcases a harmonious As lives increasingly become urbanized, the connection with nature, natural light, green space, and organic materials is gradually disappearing. This project is a humble attempt to restore the human-nature connection by mimicking the ‘ground scape’ on the hard surface of an urban rooftop while offering the visitors a ravishing green experience.

The context demands for a space to be developed where the users can transcend themselves from the hustle and bustle of the city and have a deep breath. Involving the sounds of the flowing water, tweets of the birds, and rustling of leaves, these are depictions of the countryside that have enriched the intended flavor for the project.

Here spaces are derived from the architecture of villages. Ghat chemistry, courtyard, river edge, pond detail, vegetable cultivation structure, seating under a tree, village house form, rural landscape, boat on the river edge, jungle and ground figure relation between soil and trees are the metaphors that finally impart a merger of physics and chemistry of the spaces. As the project faces west, a tall tree trunk-made wall and natural trees have been incorporated to cut the scorching sun. A large ( 120’x50′) MS mesh-made see-through green canopy is developed to exaggerate the play of light and shadows, further giving a sense of enclosure.

As such the project is a combination of indoor and outdoor spaces that are constructed mostly with steel supplemented with the incorporation of trees, and bamboo structures in cases. High-tech glass works have been incorporated into some challenging areas. Customized attempts are made for the steel structures to be painted with green color to merge with the concept of nature. The project is a fair example of what can be done at the roof level of any high-rise building.

The Muhibbah Engineering Headquarters employs a modern and transparent architectural language that emphasizes lightness and openness. Its iconic staircase tower serves as a focal point, creating a sculptural and dynamic element that contrasts with the rectilinear forms of the main building. The extensive use of glass panels allows natural light to flood the interiors, fostering a sense of connectivity between indoor and outdoor spaces. The design reflects the innovation and technical excellence associated with its engineering roots, making it a distinctive landmark in Shah Alam.

Originally established as Metropolitan College, Inti International College was designed to offer local twinning programs in collaboration with universities from Australia, America, and Canada. The campus features three distinct blocks on a 0.97 hectares plot of land, each dedicated to a specific program, seamlessly connected through cloistered walkways. Central shared facilities, including the library, administration block, lecture hall, canteen, and main entrance lobby, foster a sense of community and accessibility. Designed with expansive verandah corridors and breezeways that encircle a central courtyard, the campus offers an open, airy environment conducive to learning. It accommodates 1,300 students and was completed in 1993.

Aman Putri Terrace Housing is a proposed superlink terrace development nestled within the 169-acre Aman Putri master plan in Sungai Buloh, offering a serene suburban lifestyle. Comprising 52 elevated 2-story terrace homes with spacious layouts ranging from 2,500 sqft across three typologies, these residences emphasize contemporary design, functionality, and multigenerational living. The minimalist façades blend modern aesthetics with clean lines, while interiors maximize space, natural light, and ventilation. Enhanced by a 1.2km linear park with recreational facilities, Aman Putri balances urban accessibility—near MRT and KTM stations and key highways—with tranquil living, embodying VERITAS’ vision for sustainable, adaptable communities.

Guests can expect innovative room layouts, cutting-edge amenities, and artfully curated spaces that inspire relaxation and creativity.

The engineering design of M Social Penang at Tanjung Bunga will integrate advanced construction techniques and sustainable practices to support the hotel's modern architectural vision. The structural framework will utilize reinforced concrete and steel, ensuring durability and stability, especially considering the coastal location and the associated environmental challenges such as humidity and potential saltwater exposure. The building’s envelope will incorporate high-performance materials, including energy-efficient glazing and thermal insulation, to enhance energy conservation while maximizing natural light and sea views.

The conceptual recommendations for the Kedah Eco Industrial Park (KEIP) are guided by 3 key elements – innovation, sustainability and synergy, focuses on sustainability and safety, with a long-term aspiration towards enabling the first Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) model in Malaysia, which is separate industries grouping together to gain competitive advantage by material exchange, energy exchange, information exchange, and/or product exchange.

The proposed KEIP is located within the proximity of the PETRONAS Fertilizer facility, in Gurun Industrial Park, with a direct access from North South Highway (PLUS), allowing cross synergies with PETRONAS.

The scope of services encompasses the preparation of a conceptual master plan design, progressing to a schematic master plan for a 120-acre tourism-led entertainment, retail, and mixed development. This involves detailed planning and design stages, ultimately leading to the submission for KM approval. Additionally, a comprehensive Social Impact Assessment study will be conducted to evaluate the potential social effects of the development, ensuring the project aligns with community needs and mitigates any adverse impacts. This holistic approach aims to create a sustainable and socially responsible development plan.

VERITAS was commissioned to architecturally design five towers within the City of Lights master plan on Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. Positioned on plots C43-C47, these residential towers range from 45 to 50 stories high. Although collectively envisioned to create a unified architectural identity and cohesive massing, each tower was carefully differentiated to possess unique characteristics. Their sculpted forms were crafted to optimize views while minimizing exposure to east-west orientations. Consequently, the floor plans artfully blend sweeping curved balconies with orthogonally aligned core facades.

Boston Private is a leading private banking group based in Boston, Massachusetts in the USA which provides digital banking, residential and private lending, wealth planning, investment management, retirement plan advisory, and trust services to customers throughout the United States.

The new downtown San Francisco branch of Boston Private is located on the ground floor of 255 Battery Street, replacing the earlier office on California Street. The 1,100 sm interior design project was conceived to impart an ambiance of restrained elegance and subdued luxury to the guests and customers of this hallowed financial institution. The metaphor of transparency is expressed in the full-height glazing of the street-front and of meeting rooms within. Lighting was subdued and warm to highlight key rooms. The project comprises a front reception/lounge area framed by consultation rooms and a back-of-house area for private offices, storage, IT support and workrooms.The project was undertaken in 2018 in collaboration with MKThink Architects of San Francisco.

Its design emphasizes fluidity and accessibility, encouraging a dynamic interaction amongst users and fostering a communal spirit that caters to the modern Saudi lifestyle. Through innovative use of space and thoughtful urban planning, Tamimi Lifestyle Plaza aims to become a cornerstone of daily life in Al Khobar, offering an immersive experience that combines convenience, luxury, and cultural richness.

Unaizah Resort and Spa is a retreat proposed within the Qassim Province located at the heart of Saudi Arabia. A perfect combination of rustic elegance and modern comfort, the resort features spacious private bungalows, a luxurious spa, and breathtaking views of the Arabian Desert. Made of clustered arrangements of villas, the architecture of the holiday homes is inspired by Unaizah’s traditional courtyard house design to achieve maximum privacy. Each villa is equipped with a private pool and has access to the attached courtyard, which are connected to the main pedestrian promenade. The dwelling is designed to accommodate for various typologies and occupant’s requirements, in tune with prevalent resorts located within Saudi Arabia and abroad. This is done by sympathetically keeping in mind the experience of the user within the haven. Being in the hot dry desert climate, comfort is a prime factor to ensure that the residents are content and at ease during their retreat.

This is effortlessly achieved by adopting thermal mass construction using natural material such as clay and bricks. The main entry points for vehicles and pedestrian ensures that patrons arrive to an expansive desert view of the National Park situated beyond. Qassim region is abundant in water, thus continuous water body is introduced throughout the sanctuary which acts as veins that supplies life to the development and unifies all components. The water body also improves the microclimate of each cluster and provokes an air of mystery and intimacy for individual assemblage. Being one of the Middle East’s largest producers of dates, the importance of the dates plantation to the region is understood. Thus, immersion of existing date palms as part of the resort’s masterplan is done to create a wholesome an oasis effect for resort.

The 10” combines state-of-the-art technologies with the spatial organization and sociocultural values of traditional Arab settlements to create a vibrant and sustainable desert community. Located in the heart of Riyadh’s bustling city, the mixed use, low-rise development will realize a seamless integration between urban living, leisure and culture.

The 10 offers a distinctive modern interpretation of the regional vernacular. A shift from the conventional ‘grid-iron’ to a ‘fine-grain’ urban fabric that recalls older cities creates a strong sense of place with lively corridors for community interaction. While traditional Arab homes and malls are usually enjoyed as indoor environments, “The 10” weaves one through bespoke homes, urban-scale commercial buildings and communal spaces through a changing rhythm of covered courtyards, open plazas and shadowed alleyways. These different experiences are brought together under an architecture of dappled sunlight, bright colors, fountains and generous landscapes.

The Corniche Resort in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, is a stunning example of contemporary coastal architecture designed to blend luxury with the natural beauty of its surroundings. The design features sleek, modern lines and expansive glass facades that offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone complement the water's edge, while the sophisticated landscaping integrates native flora, enhancing the sense of seclusion and tranquility. The resort's architecture not only provides an immersive experience for its guests but also respects and highlights the unique coastal environment of Al-Khobar.

The Al-Minhal is a 4 star hotel consist of 340 rooms on a 28,350.926 sq.m area. The center also includes tourist buildings, cafes, restaurants. The Al-Minhal project for Dar Al-Riyadh is an addition and refurbishment project located in the center of Riyadh. The main building cladding is of local stone to express the building's locality. Islamic motifs are introduced on the main facade of the hotel to filter the penetration of harsh sunlight to the individual rooms. The new wing gives a more contemporary architectural expression to represent a deviation from the old wing.

The new master plan for Trisakti University’s Nagrak Campus envisions a complex built on the principles of green & sustainable approach. Integrating classrooms, research labs, and student residences within a walkable "five-minute city" design, it fosters collaboration and community. The design prioritises inclusivity, ensuring accessibility for all. Smart infrastructure will optimise energy use, waste recycling, and future expansion. Landscaped green spaces and energy-efficient buildings will create a healthy and environmentally responsible learning environment. All aspects will come together to create a vibrant learning community which prizes sustainability, collaboration, and well-being. Located within the thriving commercial precinct of Mutiara Damansara, the Batu Kawan Corporate Headquarters, completed in 2009 comprises a 12-storey tower flanked by a 4 storey podium block and 2 stories of basement car parks. This building primarily houses commercial office spaces with retail programs on the ground floor.

Departing from the generic tower-stacked-on-podium typology, the tower’s massing is detached from a semi-circular lower block and connected via a thin double-storey hanging walkway. Proportioning the tower in this way creates a deliberate contrast between the horizontality of the podium and the vertical lines of the tower. The structural ordering
of expressed beams and columns on the tower further enhances this impression, against a bold red feature wall. The resulting U-shaped plan is an opportunity to create a courtyard garden that allows light to infiltrate what would have otherwise been a deep, enclosed floor plan.

One gently becomes aware of these geometric manoeuvres crossing under the steel and glass porte-cochere, to arrive at a lofty entrance foyer. Tempering light levels and visual density are a series of louvers that transform in length, dimension and material expression on the façade. A steel and timber tread feature stairway lures the eye to a thin mezzanine
level that leads off to the hanging walkway. Here, the light filigree of louvers on the façade are translated into an abstract barcode motif that pervades floor, ceiling and counter. These features wrap around the presence of the courtyard garden that suffuses the space with light.

The sweeping curve of the lower tower addresses the traffic junction, at the same time giving occupants an all-round view of the surroundings. The building’s frontage is oriented eastwards, catching the morning sun. Services and restrooms are relegated to the western aspect of the building to buffer the interiors from heat gain.

Nestled adjacent to the primary boulevard within the heart of Putrajaya's Core Island, Precinct 3, this mixed-use development seamlessly integrates office and retail functions, presenting a 14-storey office tower alongside an 8-storey retail podium. The tower is strategically oriented to front the main square, accentuating its prominence, while the podium is meticulously crafted to facilitate pedestrian flow. The architectural articulation of the office tower is enhanced through the incorporation of vertical fins on its principal façade, serving to underscore its commanding height and significance.

SMPK Bumbong Lima, a government school with facilities for students with Special Education Needs (SEN). It is located on a 9.6 acres land at Bumbung Lima, Pulau Pinang. The school caters for a population of 160 disabled secondary students with full barrier free facilities including workshops, hostels, warden units and sport general facilities. The overall compound area of the site is 20.5 acres where the remaining 10.9 acres is reserved for conventional secondary school SMK Dato Onn.

The building’s layout is in the configuration of a spine connecting each building block, from the 4-storeys academic block to the workshops, student co-curricular activity center, multipurpose canteen hall, library and prayer hall. Although the spine stretches along three cascading levels, it is mindfully designed with ramps and elevators that allow the disabled students to move freely around the building without difficulties and feeling indifferent.

The building is designed with the aim to advocate users on the needs of physically disabled person. A grand facade inspired by Braille coding is introduced at the entrance of the Main Administrative Building. This façade introduces brail language pattern carrying the alphabets [ S M P K ] which also acts as opening for natural ventilation to the corridor behind the wall. The design planning of the compound houses a few courtyards to provide quiet and protected spaces particularly for the SEN students. Glass panel railings are designed along the corridors to prevent children with challenging behavior to climb walls, run away from educators or cause harm to themselves. Sufficient clearances around furniture and equipment, circulation areas, etc. are also catered for the ease of mobility of the SEN students and even the staffs.CorridorIn overall, universal design practice is efficiently designed even though under budget constraints.
