As a beacon of refined elegance, Shangri-La Colombo features the city’s finest accommodations, complemented by an invigorating dining and social ambiance, and boasts the most extensive conference and event facilities, setting a new benchmark for hospitality and sophistication in Colombo.

VERITAS was commissioned to architecturally design five towers within the City of Lights master plan on Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. Positioned on plots C43-C47, these residential towers range from 45 to 50 stories high. Although collectively envisioned to create a unified architectural identity and cohesive massing, each tower was carefully differentiated to possess unique characteristics. Their sculpted forms were crafted to optimize views while minimizing exposure to east-west orientations. Consequently, the floor plans artfully blend sweeping curved balconies with orthogonally aligned core facades.

Our aspiration for Sentral Suites, is to create a place for a modern city lifestyle that thrives on the conveniences and fast-moving pace of KL Sentral but also celebrates the unique mix of cultural heritage and history in this neighbourhood.

More than just individual apartment homes, the scale of the development itself creates a new community and landmark in the area.

There are many Sky Gardens and landscaped pockets scattered throughout the buildings allowing residents to enjoy a garden experience within an urban setting. With its generous amenities including a new urban park that commemorates the local history, there is altogether almost 0.81 ha of open and green areas at Sentral Suites.

The design takes inspiration from the geometric lines of the familiar turmeric leaf or daun kunyit. This becomes a recurring motif in the architecture and landscape, giving a strong visual identity and a link to the rich cultural traditions of this neighbourhood. The project was designed for MRCB and will be completed in 2023.

The Tribeca Serviced Suites is designed as two residential towers merged into one development linked via a central atrium. The simple yet chic rectilinear composition expresses contemporary sophistication standing amongst the city’s sought-after addresses, situated within the heart of the Golden Triangle. The 32 and 37 storey towers bear 318 units on a V-shaped floor plan. The tower offers luxurious serviced suites, providing an array of smaller studios ranging from 510 sq.ft, to larger apartment suites and loft type units sizing up to 1,293 sq.ft. The development boasts high-end amenities such as infinity sky-pools on rooftop levels with pool-side putting greens, together with modish office and retail spaces on lower levels. Five rectangular portals frame the themed sky pods, impersonating large windows on the main elevations. Bearing themes such as business, social, jungle, zen and fitness, the concept of these double and triple volume sky facilities is to act as entryways to draw fresh air into the central atrium. The openings also bring in natural lighting, promote the flow of natural ventilation and encourage the stack effect thus cooling the towers. The project was completed in September 2017.

De’Centrum Galleria is designed to impart an aura of energy and excitement. Its clean lines, edgy façade and dynamic massing convey the spirit of international sophistication: an homage to 21st century modernism. Being highly visible from the surrounding terrain provides the commercial scheme with commanding views in all directions. A self-contained neighbourhood, the project bears the ideal mixed use development of the future, providing the perfect proportion of residential, office, SOHO and retail program into a single, efficient and integrated complex. In addition, the retail podium is physically connected to the larger Unipark Suria masterplan by a network of underground link ways and overhead bridges, to provide connectivity to an even greater range of facilities throughout the site. No doubt that the heart of the De Centrum development lies in its retail component - De Centrum Mall- a three level shopping oasis bursting with alfresco dining, F&B and retail outlets. Open and easily accessible from three sides, the mall is designed to be light and airy with triple volume atrium and skylight bringing in natural daylight, thus further enhancing the retail experience.

The De Centrum Residences on the other hand, is a striking 27 storey tower positioned artfully at the far edge of the site to provide residents with the security and privacy befitting of a high-end luxury property.

Client : Tropicana Corporation Berhad
Making a commentary about the street wall of Jalan Ampang, The building is recessed from Jalan Ampang’s street wall, to create a plaza and a more generous drop-off area in front of W hotel. Due to the depth of the site, instead of conventionally arranging the buildings such that all public spaces face the front a deliberate decision was made to stack the programs atop one another. This means that there will always be a buffer zone or separation between the intersection of the programs and that both hotel and drop-off area for the residential components (serviced apartments) are separated.

This relationship between the different parts of the building is expressed via the different façade treatments for the car park. Façade treatments are also determined according to the needs of that particular program. For example, the hotel’s façade has more glass per surface area than the residential apartments. Nonetheless, the drop-off areas are shared between the hotel and residential apartment. Therefore, the façade expresses the sequence of programs as one moves through the building. A pool deck on the 12th floor is orientated towards the rear of the building, away from the traffic noise of Jalan Ampang. This project was designed in collaboration with SOM, USA.

A stone throws away from the renowned Petronas Twin Towers, the Oxley Towers is a vibrant and upcoming development made from an ensemble of three cascading skyscrapers interlinked with landscaped sky decks. This commercial scheme is known to become a future landmark on the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The curtain-wall embodies a distinctive diagonal grain - a recurring leitmotif in indigenous textiles and weaving traditions of Malaysia. Window panels and sun-shading fins form a layered, textured façade reinforcing the diagonal pattern which distinguishes the interior experience. The asymmetrical composition of three tapering and interconnect towers creates constantly changing perspectives of the buildings from different viewpoints. It  has 267 residential units and 186 hotel rooms.

The critical mass of this high-density development in the heart of Kuala Lumpur provides an opportunity to reshape and create a new character to the urban fabric surrounding the development. The site planning seeks to enhance the street-life and pedestrian environment by placing retail activities on the street edge that open out to generous sidewalks. Pockets of landscapes urban courtyards which house commercial activities are inserted within the retail frontage to create urban nodes and landmarks and linkages to various components of the mixed development that comprises retail, service apartments and luxury condominiums. Located in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, Kuala Lumpur.

Proposed 28-storeys Luxury Service Apartment with 340 units of apartments and 4 units of penthouses located at Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur. The project combines modern elevational treatments with efficient planning to achieve a highly rigorous design solution. Modern amenities include swimming pools (ground and roof-top), private function hall, games room/gymnasium, café, children's playground, tennis court and lounge area. The project was done in conjunction with AXIS Architects of Singapore.

Located in the commercial & residential district of Danga Bay, the design of Tropez Residences combines the concerns of dealing with a large built-up and the consequence problems with massing, the need for a diverse range of units typologies to cater to a larger residential market cross- section and quality shared spaces

Client : SIME UEP
The Isola Residence consist of two towers, they are oriented North and South, with views towards the neighboring golf courses as well as the Subang Jaya cityscape. Each tower offers an array of unit types (8 types), each accommodating to different demands of the consumers. A typical floor consists of 7-8units. This concept gives a sense of  'privacy' and exclusiveness, unparalleled by other developments in the area.

At every three floors, triple volume spaces are carved out from the towers to create sky gardens for the inhabitants of the nearby floors. Here residents may socialize amidst lush landscaped gardens and enjoy breath-taking views of the surroundings. Common facilities include a gymnasium, saunas, swimming pool, BBQ pits, café, mini-market, games room, children playground, common room, basket ball court, multi-purpose hall and management office. In addition, the multiple basement car park provides each unit with a minimum of two car parks.

The Crown Regency is a 31-storey hotel service apartment and condominium development which became the first project of its type within the city center. VERITAS' responsibilities included architectural, interior and landscape design services for all the hotel public areas and room areas. It is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur along Jalan P. Ramlee.

Clients : Gasing Heights Sdn Bhd
The Fraser Towers represent the first phase of the exclusive Gasing Heights project. Two towers of 22 and 27 stories respectively accommodate 248 luxury condominium units with multi-level carparking structure and complete recreational facilities such as swimming pool, sauna, games areas and exclusive gardens. This exclusive development is located on Gasing Hill in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The Cova is a residential development with supporting retail outlets located within the thriving district of Kota Damansara, the 2 residential components of the development, Cova Villas and Cova Suites, is sited on the banks of a sprawling lake, affording generous views of the open waterfront and wetlands landscape fringing the lake. A promenade interfaces the residential blocks with the retail component of the development known as Cova Square.

Client : Rohan Lifescapes
Conceptually the tower was conceived to be a beacon. The idea was conceived of a tall point tower with the allowable FAR spread over 70-storeys with individual units commanding the uncompromised view over the Indian Ocean to the South and Central Mumbai to the North.

The landmark would line the edge of the city and mark out the coast from the city as a tall beacon. Rising slender over the existing line of built fabric comprising of 5 to 10 storey buildings, the modern icon would tower over the coastal line of 5-10 storey buildings predating the Victorian period and the British Raj. The challenge was thus executing this convincingly.

The emphasis was also to encapsulate a form of opulence that was familiar to the region in its early kingdoms. The use of color and tone in the materials as well as the intricacy of the façade seeks to emulate an extravagance drawing inspiration from the cultural density of artisanship historically typical to the region apparent in both its textile as well as its architecture.

The Silicon Oasis Condominium is a 9-storey residential building comprising of 125 units of studio condominium units. Apart from facilities such as a roof-top swimming pool, gym and retail outlets, the building also has a series of sky gardens. It is located on a 3,500 sq. m. plot at Silicon Oasis, Dubai.

Client : Bonyan Emirates Properties
The ICON is a 14-storey condominium development located in Dubai's Technology, Electronics, Commerce and Media Free Zone. The 73 luxury condominium units are planned around an internal sky-lit atrium. Adjustable timber sun-shading panels protect the building facade against the glare and intense light of the local climate. Shared open sky gardens are inserted at various levels and culminate at the landscaped roof terrace where the swimming pool, gym and café are located.

Client: Hua Yang Berhad
Sited on 1.54 acre land in Desa Pandan, the mixed use scheme is designed to create an exclusive landmark for the vicinity. Overlooking the gorgeous vista of the Royal Selangor Golf Course towards the East and taking advantage of the stunning KLCC skyline backdrop, the development embraces the surrounding urbanscape of Kuala Lumpur. Sentrio Pandan is designed as an L-shaped residential building to accommodate 327 units of high-end apartments, complete with top notch facilities on Level 8 and capping off the tower with a rooftop garden on level 41.

With the tail end being the shorter portion of the tower, an architectural play in the building form created two rectangular boxes of varied heights of 12 and 32 storeys standing above the podium. The commercial components are parked within the podium which caters the retail boutiques on ground level and an office floor on level 1. Due to the smaller footprint of the site, a five storey podium and a one storey basement is required to accommodate the vehicles for the resident and visitors.

The design concept of NOVO is natural elegance. The massing and materials of the building are minimalist and edgy comprising exposed concrete, high-performance glazing and stylish aluminum louvers. The façade is the main design feature of the tower, designed to emulate a starry night sky, with blue LED light strips running across the elevation to achieve a dynamic effect.
