Colben Energy (Maju Intan) is the Joint Venture partner with Maju Intan Biomass Power Plant in Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia. Maju Intan Biomass Power Plant is located in the vicinity of over 20 palm oil mill processors. Maju Intan Biomass Energy Sdn Bhd (“MJE”) had on March 2012 entered into a renewable energy power purchase agreement with Malaysia’s Tenaga Nasional Bhd (“TNB”) for the purchase by TNB of electricity generated from Maju Intan Biomass Power Plant on a build-own-operate basis.
The Power Plant has a generating capacity of 12.5 MW utilizing Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB), a waste effluent after palm oil was extracted by palm oil millers.
The synchronization of Maju Intan Biomass Power Plant to the national grid on 3 June 2014 is a milestone achievement and a significant step towards full activation of the 12.5 megawatt nett capacity power plant at Teluk Intan, Perak, Malaysia.
