Perwira Affin, The Curve
Prominently located on the upper floor of the shopping complex, the Affin Bank at The Curve is the third branch designed to the philosophy of 'Banking Without Borders'. The design reinstates the trademarks of the first prototype design: integrated and custom-designed workspaces, timber accents, water features, a design to facilitate banking processes which depart from the behind-the-counter transactions. The unique premise of the bank next to a retail lot sparked the idea to make the entrance of the bank an 'alfresco area' laid out with café chairs and tables, in an ironic twist, echoing the extended frontage of the neighbouring café. It was intended that members of the public would mingle with the banking staff here, continuing the ambience of the neighbouring café. Upon entry, one is greeted by a row of teller machines, each with a glazed transparent separation, laid out in a curvilinear configuration. The banking hall terminates in a row of water features overlooking a view of the Mutiara Damansara development.
