Boutique Hotel and Resort Interior Design together with our partner Privehotels Group for the Charm Group JSC. The interior designed for the local market. The resort comprises 900 rooms mixed deluxe, superior and apartments with service. In the first stage of our cooperation with the investors VERITAS Architects Vietnam office provided design for two room types.

Area for the clinic approx 1200 m2 in a multi-storey office building. It consist Mezzanine level with reception, childcare, woman healthcare, dental care and general screening departments.

SPATIAL DESIGN

One of the key challenge of the design is the spatial arrangement of the layout. The design brief we received from the developer was to re-arrange nearly 10,000 m2 retail space on 3 levels of the shopping mall. The tenancy are was preliminary booked by an international retail giant who stepped back due to economy reason. The owner of the development decided to take over the leasing of the area and start recruiting tenants. The business model has changed and the pocket space which was originally allocated for the retail giant seemed to be not attractive enough for single brands. VERITAS Architects received the design task to arrange the leasing lots, a mixture of enclosed shops and open kiosks to maximize the visibility and the attractiveness. The leasing team targeted 3 different kind of tenants on the 3 levels as usual in the commercial units. On the ground level we designed space for high quality and luxury brands, accessories. On this level we maximized the circulation flow coming from main entrance into the central hall. To capture the interest of the shoppers we created attraction points we called “node points”. Initially we advised those points to be a meeting and info point, with a possible extension of using as reading corners or even coffee corners in the future. The node points are vertical attractions going through the 3 levels in the same position, giving a strong landmark for shoppers. Those landmarks are visible from the main hall of the shopping mall as well as from the escalators inside our tenancy areas. On the second and third level we designed more enclosed boutique shops for medium brands and bookstore.

COMFORT

Our main goal during the design to make to shopping experience convenient for the customers. The landmarks we created must be good and effective coordination, meeting points. We designed relaxing, sitting area around the node points combined from moveable, adjustable units. Those units are including mini tables and footstools. The pentagonal shape of the units gives a high diversity of shapes and forms the shoppers can create from the footstools. This way the spaces around the node points are always different as the shoppers moving the units around.

In order to improve the coordination within the 3 levels, we chose 3 different kind of color theme for the landmarks and decorations. Those colors are referring to significant symbols of the nearby local society.

Habitat is the residential project by VSIP (Vietnam Singapore Industrial Parks) and Sembcorp from Singapore. Habitat provides low, medium and high-end apartments for workers, managers and their family members. Habitat Phase 2 is a mid-end level with limited facilities, connected to the existing club house and providing dry and wet play areas for all ages.

The project title was an enhancement of landscape for the existing main roads of the residential development. After analyzing the existing landscape together with the client we concluded that the solution is a series of sculptures. The landscape cultures should increase the attractiveness of developments and improve the lighting alongside the main roads. The main idea was to place objects into the landscape which are integrated into the landscape scene on an organic way. However they should be interesting enough and visible from far distances a landmarks. The main concept was to build landscape creatures growing around the existing trees, embracing the landscape and mirroring the greenery. The location of the sculptures could also be changed by the time.

As lighting sculptures alongside the road one of our challenge was no to disturb the vehicular traffic. The LED lighting we hid behind opaque acrylic panels and we designed tree up-lights to bright up the shapes from outside. The client brief was to create modern emblematic symbols for their development. Also the colors should be reflecting to corporate colors of the investor’s brand and the color scheme of the development. By using different modules we created special experience for the observers moreover the shapes of sculptures are irregular, some even carries anthropomorphic attributes.

With the material of sculptures we created an optical illusion to integrate the sculpture more into the landscape. The sculpture are made from modules. The modular shape allowed us to increase the diversity of the sculptures without increasing the construction cost. We used 3 type of modules: frames, solids and mirroring. The some if the solid modules we equipped with LED lights inside. Altering the solid, frame and mirroring surfaces gives the optical illusion of the observer like the object was more integrated into the landscape, growing together with the tree or even some part is flying without any support.

Using modules was not only an aesthetically reason but economic too. All together we designed 16 sculptures alongside the main roads of Celadoncity. All of them has a unique look. The same idea could not be efficient by designing and building 16 totally different sculptures. The materials like steel, mesh and acrylic panels are simple and often used for lighting signages in Vietnam. A local contractor easily could reproduce and install our sculptures.

Green residential condominium project with amenities and commercial components, duplex shop units on ground level. The Concept design developed from the preliminary ideas by Graham Taylor. VERITAS Design team developed the concept to meet the green requirements from the investor and to be suitable for authority submissions. The random green planters and trellises on facade requested by client and VERITAS design team proposed various arrangements. The final location proposed after evaluated the cost and suitable locations for an easier maintenance.
