Azif Nasaruddin joined the VERITAS Design Group in 1995 and has been a Principal since 2000. He received his architectural degree from the prestigious University of California, Berkeley with a scholarship from the Public Services Department (JPA). Upon graduation, he spent the next four years working for Hallenbeck, Chamorro & Associates in Alameda, California, before returning to Malaysia in 1993.

Azif has extensive design experience encompassing a diverse range of building types such as indoor and outdoor stadiums, technology-intensive industrial plants, commercial and retail complexes, golf resorts, railway stations and multi-modal transport terminals. A well-traveled individual, his projects have taken him to many regional destinations such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Sudan and Dubai.

Besides leading projects, Azif oversees the Information Technology back-bone at VERITAS, ensuring the smooth operations of the firm. As the firm’s Management Representative, he was the driving force leading to VERITAS’ ISO certification in 2004. Outside the office, Azif has spoken at seminars on Islamic architecture and is an occasional external examiner at local architecture schools. An alumnus of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar, he is frequently involved in various sub-committees of their Old Boys Association (MCOBA).
